We are giving our web site a face lift. We invite you to come back often and welcome you to our website. Please check out all the links and latest news. We'd love to meet and greet you during these times of fellowship. We know your lives are just as busy as ours and it is always wonderful to get to know the people who contribute to our ministry.

We managed to survive Super Storm Sandy and have become the largest emergency food provider in the Coney Island area. The Coney Island Lighthouse Mission is dedicated to fighting hunger and poverty in our community through the many services we provide to those in need. For those families in need of food, we distribute free grocery bags two days a week and serve hot meals to the public every Wednesday & Friday evenings. We are currently serving over 4,000 people every month. Our after-school program began in 2007 and provides homework assistance and tutoring, hot snacks, games, art projects, and bible study for students aged 5-13 Monday-Friday. We are open five days a week to receive new clients, provide information, and make appointments for free benefits screening and submit food stamp applications with a social worker on-site. In addition, the Lighthouse Mission conducts special holiday outreach programs such as distributing hundreds of Thanksgiving turkeys in the community.

Our mission is to meet the immediate needs of our clients while offering additional, necessary services to help move families toward self-sufficiency. We provide ESL and GED training, drug and alcohol counseling, housing for several formerly homeless clients, job readiness training, and information on public benefits to reduce the dependence on emergency food. We want to be known as the place to go for anyone in need in our community!

Rachel's Joy Maternity Home is our sister organization located in Flatbush, Brooklyn, providing shelter to homeless and abused young women and mothers. Rachel's Joy is also the home of the Mother and Baby Wellness Center and programs including GED training, language instruction, and computer classes to help our clients find work and achieve success. The Maternity Home is run by its founder Rev. Susan Mirti-Fusco. They recently opened Mother & Baby Wellness Center in the Bronx.
